Happy Yoga Session by Andresr at Dreamstime

Of all the tools out there to help one get or stay happy, I would say yoga is towards the top of that list.  Of course, being a yoga instructor I guess it’s not a ‘stretch’ that I would say that!  I would love to see everyone doing yoga.

Yoga: At First Glance …

A famous saying is that yoga helps a person become ‘one’ with themselves, to really know oneself.  When you know yourself, you can better figure out what makes you truly happy.  You don’t have to waste your precious self on addictions and other distractions that are going to make you feel worse later.

The good news is, when you figure out what you need to be happy, you realize your happiness helps you open up to help others be happy too.  It’s great for you, and it’s great for the world to be authentically happy.  You aren’t being selfish or weak; you’re being smart and strong to do the work to live a full and purposeful life of happiness. In Greek mythology, muses were female goddesses or spirits who inspired humans to create literature or art.  Cultures worldwide recognize goddesses of creativity as muses that promote artistic creation.  For example in Celtic culture Brighid is honored as the Goddess of Healing, Creativity & Poetry, and in the Hindu tradition, Devi is worshipped as the Goddess of Creativity

Recently, while working in my studio, I had an idea to create The Monthly Muse, a new section of my blog that will feature a guest article once a month written by a Holistic Practitioner, Life Coach, Artist, Educator, or Art Therapist.  The article will be written in the original voice of the guest writer, and shall serve as an opportunity for them to share their experience, wisdom, and stories with our readers.  The article will be published the last weekend of every month.  Please contact me if you would like to collaborate and increase your exposure through my blog.
